Our Story
A Story That Turned Pain Into Purpose
The Massey 48 Foundation was born from a deeply personal loss that forever changed our family.
In the early 1990s, our father was diagnosed with colon cancer at just 42 years old. What followed was a long and courageous battle—filled with surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation.
Despite his strength and determination, he passed away at the age of 48.
At the time, our family—like so many others—did not fully understand colon cancer or how preventable it can be with early detection.
That lack of awareness cost us everything.
But from that loss came a mission.
Today, The Massey 48 Foundation exists to ensure that no other family has to experience the same pain due to a lack of information, access, or early screening.
Through education, community outreach, and access to preventative care, we are turning our story into a movement that saves lives.
